Rep. Burchett to President Biden: End the COVID-19 national emergency

WASHINGTON, D.C., (Sept. 19, 2022) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) led 16 of his House colleagues in sending a letter to President Biden requesting he terminate the national emergency concerning the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In a Sept. 18, 2022 episode of ‘60 Minutes’ you stated that ‘the pandemic is over.’” wrote Rep. Burchett. “We firmly agree with this statement and request you terminate the national emergency concerning the COVID-19 outbreak declared in Proclamation 9994.”

This letter was also signed by Reps.Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02), Doug LaMalfa (CA-01), Greg Steube (FL-17), Louie Gohmert (TX-01), Ben Cline (VA-06),  John Moolenaar (MI-04), Bob Gibbs (OH-07), Matt Gaetz (FL-01), Diana Harshbarger (TN-01), Clay Higgins (LA-03), Michael Guest (MS-03), Ralph Norman (SC-05), Randy Weber (TX-14), Chip Roy (TX-21), Vicky Hartzler (MO-04), and Cliff Bentz (OR-02).
