Irving Berlin was born May 11, 1888, in a Siberian Province. He came to America in 1892 and was recognized in the music business as song writer and lyricist. He served in the Army during World War I. His father died when he was eight years old, and he did what jobs he could to bring his meager earnings home to his mother. He was a member of the Jewish Theatrical Guild of America in 1947, and he was the Chairman of the Dinner Committee. He received the American Hebrew medal in 1943. He was a Council Member of the Authors League of America from 1942 - 1944. He was only mentioned in cross references. He was never the subject of an FBI Investigation.
