WASHINGTON - Senator Kit Bond today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved $99,999 in rural business opportunity grant funds to assist with rural development in Fredericktown, Missouri.

“This money will increase opportunities for Missourians in Fredericktown,” said Bond. “Promoting business and community development in rural Missouri is one of my top priorities, I am happy that I was able to direct these funds to Fredericktown.”

The $99,999 Rural Business Enterprise Grant program funds will be used to help build the infrastructure for the industrial park. This money will create 30 new jobs in the community.

As senior Senator from Missouri and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee that funds the USDA’s Rural Development programs, Bond was instrumental in directing this money to Missouri.

Bond served Missouri twice as Governor and now continues his service to Missourians in the United States Senate.
