Regional Updates - Region 1 - The Columbia River

As a native of the Columbia River Gorge, Congressman Walden is very familiar with the diverse recreational and economic interests of the region.  Pears, cherries, wheat, lumber and cattle are important to the thriving, high-quality agriculture market throughout the Gorge.  The area also has a rapidly growing tourism base given the diverse opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts - windsurfing, kiteboarding, hiking, fishing, kayaking, hunting, and mountain biking to name some.
