E-Update on Second Amendment Rights
Knowing of your interest in Second Amendment rights, I thought you might be interested in a letter I and 24 other members of Congress sent to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  Manufacturers and retailers of small arms ammunition had expressed concern that a proposed OSHA regulation on handling of explosives could have serious consequences for ammunition.  Our letter asks OSHA to revise the rule to remove these unnecessary and burdensome requirements on manufacturers and retailers of small arms ammunition.

In its response, the Department of Labor, which oversees OSHA, stated, "It was never the intention of OSHA to block the sale, transportation, or storage of small arms ammunition, and OSHA is taking prompt action to revise this [proposed rule] to clarify the purpose of the regulation."  I will be monitoring this process to make sure that OSHA follows through on this commitment and that the final regulation does not negatively affect hunters and gun owners.
