I cast my vote to save the Big Three American automakers from a mess that was, in a great part, their own making. Simply put, I am not willing to play Russian Roulette with American jobs and gamble whether Detroit will be able to survive."

Congressman Eliot Engel applauds the court order to delay the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) plan to auction landing slots at the three major airports in the New York region. This decision takes the issue out of the hands of the Bush Administration’s FAA and hopefully kills the ill-conceived plan.

Congressman Eliot Engel congratulated the three area high schools named as Gold Medal winners by the U.S. News and World Report list of the top high schools in America. Several other area schools landed on the Bronze Medal list – a strong achievement considering the huge number of schools nationwide.

Wave Hill was awarded a $15,000 National Endowment for the Arts grant Congressman Eliot Engel announced. The grant is to support an exhibition and catalogue examining projects that explore issues related to environmental remediation.
