Washington, D.C.
- Today, Congressman Gus M. Bilirakis (R-Palm Harbor) announced the awarding of a $598,578 defense contract to the Boeing Co. facility in Clearwater, FL.

The contract will exercise an option for 10 Harpoon Tactical Block II Grade B All-Up-Round (AUR) missiles and 10 MK631 Canister AUR Containers.

"Florida's Ninth District continues to be an attractive location for defense contractors to locate their facilities and, because of this, it is no surprise that our region continues to receive investments from the federal government," Rep. Bilirakis said.

This grant brings the total federal investment for defense contracts in Florida's Ninth District to $11,109,639 for 2007.
