This site is best viewed with Internet Explorer and Netscape versions 4.0 and later.
Display
Kids in the House has been designed to be viewed at
most common resolutions, but your display should be set to 800x600 for optimal
results. Also, your monitor settings should be using the highest bit-depth available, usually 16 or 32 bit.
Fonts
If graphics or layout appear distorted, check your font settings. For best results, be sure your Internet Explorer default font setting is "Medium" or that your Netscape default setting is "12 pt. Verdana".
Plug-ins
Some of the activities on Kids in the House may require a special plug-in to view. Below is a list of plug-ins you will need to access these special pages.
- Macromedia
Flash Player:
Allows users to experience special multimedia
files. Flash Player is free and can be downloaded
by going to http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer.
- Java-Enabled Browser: Applets are special web programs written in a computer language called Java. A Java-enabled browser allows applets to be run on your computer. If you are unable to run an applet, you may have disabled Java in your browser's "Preferences" or "Options" settings.
Printing Help
If you are having trouble printing any of the pages in Kids in the House, check to see that your printer is on and configured to work with your computer. To print some of the special activities you may need to:
- Configure your browser to print background images within your browser's "Page Setup" or "Options" settings.

- Press the "Print Screen"(Windows) button, or "Command+Shift+3"(Macintosh). This action will capture a picture of your screen.
- Open up a simple paint program, for example, Microsoft© Paint.
- Paste the image into the paint program.
- Crop the picture to the desired area and print the cropped picture.
