Watts and Wilson to Highlight Education Agenda |

ALBUQUERQUE -- House Republican Conference Chairman J.C. Watts and Congresswoman Heather Wilson will hold a media availability on Saturday, October 16 at 4 p.m. at the South Valley Library, 3904 Isleta Blvd. SW (corner of Isleta and Camino del Valle, one half mile south of Rio Bravo Blvd.)
During the next several weeks, Congress will consider funding for additional education initiatives. Watts is a passionate spokesman for improving education and in 1998 was elected by his peers to serve as Republican Conference Chair.
Prior to serving in Congress, Watts was known to many as the University of Oklahoma quarterback who led the Sooners to consecutive Big Eight championships and two time Most Valuable Player Orange Bowl victories in 1980 and 1981. In 1982, he was selected as the Most Valuable Player in the Grey Cup, the Canadian Football League's Super Bowl while playing with Ottowa.
Watts was born and graduated from high school in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He and his wife Frankie have five children and reside in Norman, Oklahoma.
