DENVER, CO – The NEWSED Community Development Corporation received $1 million from the U.S. Economic Development Administration on Friday, October 25 to help finance the Santa Fe Commons commercial and retail development project.
The funding was secured with assistance of U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) and a variety of federal, state and local agencies. The Santa Fe Commons project, located on the corner of 10th and Santa Fe Drive, will provide 12,000 square feet of commercial space. It will include the first new commercial office space along the Alameda Avenue corridor north to Colfax Avenue in recent years.
"This is an important step toward developing the business core of the neighborhood in West Denver. It will mean more retail options, more businesses, and more jobs," said Rep. DeGette. "The funding represents the best kind of collaboration between the community development corporation and local, state, and federal agencies."
