 Denver, CO – Today U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) issued the following statement on the completion of the TREX multimodal project.

“This is a tremendous day for the Denver metro area.  The opening of the Southeast Light Rail line marks the final completion of the TREX project giving Denver residents more transportation choices that will help reduce congestion and help our environment.

“I am proud of the roll I played in securing federal funding for the TREX project.  Working in a bipartisan fashion with our congressional delegation, Governor Owens, and the communities along I-25 and 1I-225 we were all able to see this project through.

“The completion of the TREX project is an important spoke in the wheel of our metro-wide transit system.  This project will have a positive impact for decades to come, transforming our communities in an environmentally sensitive way.”
