Denver, CO – U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) released the following statement on yesterday’s long lines, delays, and other voting problems in the City of Denver.

“Thousand of voters in Denver showed tremendous resolve and patience yesterday in overcoming long lines, downed computers and other difficulties to cast their vote.

“Voting yesterday was needlessly frustrating and unacceptable but no one is served by looking backwards.  We must all work together ensure this never happens again.

“I look forward to working with Denver’s elected officials to insure federal support for a voting system with integrity.  With a determined effort, these problems can and will be fixed before the next election.”
