STATEMENT ON THE COMMENCEMENT OF MILITARY ACTION IN IRAQ

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) released the following statement on the commencement of American military action in Iraq:
“The American troops in the field and their families are in my thoughts and prayers. Now that the President has made the decision to attack Iraq, I hope the conflict will end quickly with minimal troop and civilian casualties.
Once the military action ends, the President and the nation will face the new challenges of rebuilding the country of Iraq and the damaged relationships with our allies throughout the region and around the world.”
