Rep. Slaughter On House Budget: New Priorities And A New Direction For America
Washington, DC - Congresswoman Louise M. Slaughter (D-NY-28), Chairwoman of the House Committee on Rules, today issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed H.Con.Res 85, the budget resolution for fiscal year 2010:
"This budget is a blueprint for economic recovery.
It sets forth new priorities to create jobs now and support sustainable economic growth and prosperity for years to come.
For the first time in years, America will have a budget that cuts the deficit; cuts taxes for middle class Americans; and creates and saves American jobs with investments in health care, clean energy, and education.
With this budget, this Congress will once again turn our nation toward a more prosperous future. I am proud to support these priorities and new direction for America."
