“Temporary Employee Practices: How Long Does Temporary Last?” |
On Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building the Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service, and the District of Columbia held a hearing entitled, “Temporary Employee Practices: How Long Does Temporary Last?”
The purpose of the upcoming hearing was to robustly review existing temporary hiring authorities, associated agency regulations, and the resulting impact on temporary employees’ status and benefit offerings. Proposals to allow temporary employees who have extended years of service to qualify for permanent jobs will also serve as a discussion topic at the hearing. Additionally, current federal employees’ legislative requests to obtain retirement credit for earlier temporary service will be examined. To watch a webcast of the hearing, click here.
