Senator Blanche Lincoln’s
Health Care Resources Page

Welcome to my Health Care Resources web page.  I hope you will find this information useful.

Now that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is law, Arkansans can start taking advantage of the benefits. Young adults can now stay on their parents’ coverage until age 26. Seniors will be better able to pay for their prescription drugs. And small business owners can take advantage of a tax credit that will help them provide coverage for their employees.

I am proud to have worked for nearly two years to help craft and pass this legislation. I have talked about health care with thousands of Arkansans at my small business health insurance and rural health care tours, in town hall meetings, and in one-on-one meetings.

My goal has always been to keep what works and make it better. That’s why I fought for and helped achieve legislation that:
          • Is deficit neutral, now and in the future, and curbs health care costs down the road.
          • Allows small businesses, the self-employed, and other individuals to shop for

affordable, quality health insurance options just like federal employees.
          • Cuts the annual estimated $700 billion in inefficiencies, waste, fraud, and abuse in

health care.
          • And changes the way insurance companies do business by requiring coverage of pre-

existing conditions and allowing individuals to have coverage even if they lose jobs.

Again, I hope you will be able to use the resources and information on this page to make informed decisions about your health care. As always, please feel free to contact me if you have comments, questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Blanche L. Lincoln
