WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jerry Moran announced today that Tyler York of Ashland is serving as a congressional intern in his Washington, D.C. office this fall. York is a 2005 graduate of Ashland High School and a 2010 graduate of Kansas State University (KSU). Tyler is the son of Frank York of Ashland and Mary Smith of Creede, Colorado.

“Congressional internships offer Kansas students a great opportunity to learn about Congress and the legislative process,” Moran said. “Tyler is doing important work for Kansans and gaining valuable experience that will help him in the future.”

York received a bachelor’s degree from KSU in horticulture with a specialization in landscape design, and hopes to pursue a career in Washington, D.C.

“Working for Congressman Moran has been a great honor and a privilege,” York said. “Ever since I witnessed the events of 9/11, I have had a great passion for learning about our federal government and how public policy is made. The lessons I have learned and the valuable work experience I have gained will continue to serve me well throughout my life on both a professional and personal level.”

York assists Moran with legislative and administrative duties on behalf of the people of Kansas.
