On Tuesday, December 9, 2008, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing titled: "The Role of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the Financial Crisis." The hearing will examine the role of federally-chartered housing finance corporations in the current financial crisis. The committee will examine the extent to which the actions and policies of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac may have contributed to the ongoing crisis.
