On Thursday, March 4, 2010, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing titled: "Prostate Cancer: New Questions About Screening and Treatment." Recent debates about the efficacy of screening for prostate cancer have sparked new concerns about both screening and treatment for the disease. In addition to focusing on prostate screening and treatment controversy, and current research efforts, representatives from the National Cancer Institute and the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command discussed their respective prostate cancer research programs.
