Towns Seeks Clarification of IG Removal Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Edolphus “Ed” Towns (D-NY) announced that he is asking White House Counsel Gregory Craig for more information about President Obama’s removal of Gerald Walpin from the office of Inspector General (IG) of the Corporation for National and Community Service. Chairman Towns is requesting that Office of the White House Counsel staff brief the Committee on the Walpin removal and provide a thorough explanation of the President’s action. In the letter, Chairman Towns states that the lack of information released from the White House about Mr. Walpin’s removal prompted uninformed speculation in the media and by Members of Congress. Copy of the letter to Mr. Craig is attached. ### Documents and Links |
