Akio Toyoda Accepts Oversight Committee’s Invitation to Appear at February 24th Hearing

WASHINGTON. D.C. – House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Edolphus “Ed” Towns (D-NY) and Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) released the following statement regarding Toyota President and CEO Akio Toyoda’s decision to accept an invitation to appear at the Committee’s hearing scheduled for Wednesday, February 24th at 10 a.m.:

“We are pleased Mr. Toyoda accepted the invitation to testify before the Committee.  We believe his testimony will be helpful in understanding the actions Toyota is taking to ensure the safety of American drivers.”
