Committee Passes Commemorative Resolutions and Postal Naming Bills

WASHINGTON – The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform considered the following commemorative resolutions and postal naming bills and approved them en bloc by voice vote:

  • H. Con. Res. 268, introduced by Rep. Maurice Hinchey.  This measure supports the goals and ideals of National Women’s Health Week.
  • H. Res. 403, introduced by Rep. Ron Klein.  This measure supports the goals and ideals of National Teacher Day.  An amendment will be offered to make technical changes to the title of the measure.
  • H. Res. 792, introduced by Rep. Bill Posey.  This measure honors Robert Kelly Slater, the 2010 Rip Curl Pro Bell Champion.  An amendment will be offered to make technical changes to the title of the measure.
  • H. Res. 879, introduced by Rep. Walter Minnick.  This measure supports the goals and ideals of American Education Week.
  • H. Res. 1187, introduced by Rep. James Moran.  This measure expresses the sense of the House of Representatives with respect to raising public awareness of and helping to prevent attacks against federal employees while engaged in or on account of the performance of official duties.
  • H. Res. 1256, introduced by Rep. Paul Broun.  This measure congratulates Phil Mickelson on winning the 2010 Masters golf tournament.
  • H. Res. 1297, introduced by Rep. Betsy Markey.  This measure supports the goals and ideals of American Craft Beer Week.
  • H. Res. 1316, introduced by Rep. Michael Honda.  This measure celebrates Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month.
  • H.R. 5051, introduced by Rep. Joe Crowley.  This measure designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 23 Genesee Street in Hornell, New York, as the “Zachary Smith Post Office Building.”
  • H.R. 5099, introduced by Rep. Barney Frank.  This measure designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 15 South Main Street in Sharon, Massachusetts, as the “Michael C. Rothberg Post Office.”
  • H.R. 5133, introduced by Rep. Steve Rothman.  This measure designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 331 1st Street in Carlstadt, New Jersey, as the “Staff Sergeant Frank T. Carvill and Lance Corporal Michael A. Schwarz Post Office Building.”
