For Immediate Release: Friday, June 11, 2010 ***MEDIA ADVISORY***Towns, Issa to Hold Joint Media Availability Monday, June 14th:Congressmen Will Discuss Tour of Areas Affected by Oil SpillWASHINGTON – House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Edolphus “Ed” Towns (D-NY) and Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) will deliver remarks on Monday, June 14, 2010 at New Orleans International Airport upon completing a tour of areas in and around New Orleans, LA affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill followed by a briefing by the Unified Command. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is currently investigating the Minerals Management Service (MMS) as well as several issues surrounding the Deepwater Horizon explosion and subsequent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
