USDA Announcement

The U.S. Department of Agriculture issued agricultural disaster designations in Kentucky for the counties of Anderson, Ballard, Boone, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Butler, Caldwell, Calloway, Campbell, Carlisle, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Crittenden, Daviess, Fayette, Fleming, Franklin, Fulton, Gallatin, Garrard, Grant, Graves, Grayson, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Henderson, Henry, Hickman, Hopkins, Jefferson, Jessamine, Kenton, Larue, Lincoln, Livingston, Logan, Lyon, Madison, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Meade, Muhlenberg, Nelson, Nicholas, Ohio, Oldham, Owen, Pendleton, Powell, Rowan, Scott, Shelby, Simpson, Spencer, Todd, Trigg, Trimble, Union, Webster and Woodford. Benefits are also available for the contiguous counties of Allen, Bath, Bourbon, Boyle, Bracken, Carter, Casey, Edmonson, Elliott, Green, Hart, Jackson, Lee, Lewis, Marion, Mason, Menifee, Mercer, Montgomery, Morgan, Pulaski, Robertson, Rockcastle, Taylor, Warren, Washington, and Wolfe.

Contiguous counties have also been designated in the states of Illinois (Alexander, Pulaski, Gallatin (parts), Hardin, Massac, and Pope); Indiana (Dearborn, Posey, Vanderburgh, Warrick, Clark, Crawford, Dearborn (part), Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Ohio, Perry, Spenser and Switzerland); Missouri (Mississippi and New Madrid); Ohio (Hamilton (parts) and Clermont) and Tennessee (Robertson, Sumner, Montgomery (parts), Henry, Lake, Obion, Stewart and Weakley.

Producers in both primary and contiguous counties are eligible to be considered for Farm Service Agency (FSA) emergency loans (EM) and the Supplemental Revenue Assistance Program (SURE). SURE was approved as part of the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 and was implemented beginning on January 4, 2010.

Regarding EM loans, FSA will consider each application on its own merit by taking into account the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability. Local FSA offices can provide affected farmers and ranchers with additional information.
