Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA), a Member of the House Energy
and Commerce Committee, issued the following statement regarding the
“Open Internet Order” put forward by Federal Communications Commission
Chairman (FCC) Julius Genachowski at the agency’s December meeting:
“I applaud Chairman Genachowski’s efforts to move forward on a framework
that enforces core Net Neutrality rules to help ensure consumers have
access to a free and open Internet. I believe this is a step in the
right direction, and that this will create a path to strengthen Net
Neutrality rules in the future.
“I will continue to monitor the FCC’s proceedings moving forward. As
more and more Americans rely on the Internet for information and
communications, it is imperative that they have access to all available
content.”
