U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords today will celebrate the 104th birthday of Dr. Seuss by reading to 4th and 5th grade students at Hudlow Elementary School.
The Tucson lawmaker's 10 a.m. visit to the east side school is part of the 10th Annual National Education Association's Read Across America Day. Similar events involving millions of children will take place at schools all across the country.
At noon today, Giffords will speak to the Democrats of Greater Tucson about legislation Congress will be working on during the second session of 110th Congress.
