U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will hold three public forums on proposed improvements to Medicare.
The forums will be held in Green Valley, Bisbee and Tucson between Saturday, Aug. 18 and Friday, Aug. 24. Anyone with an interest in Medicare is encouraged to attend.
Giffords recently voted for the Children’s Health and Medicare Protection Act, legislation aimed at improving Medicare while providing new funding for children’s health insurance. The act protects Medicare physicians from an impending 10 percent payment decrease while adding new preventative benefits, increasing assistance for low-income beneficiaries, and cutting overpayments to private insurance companies.
Each two-hour forum will include a presentation by the congresswoman and have plenty of time for questions.
