With the Obama Administration planning on announcing its endangerment finding
today, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), the Ranking Member of the House Oversight and
Government Reform Committee has called on the Administration and Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson to conduct a “thorough and
transparent investigation into the questions raised by the disclosure of emails from
Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia (CRU)” and to “withdraw the
Proposed Endangerment Finding, as well as the Light Duty Vehicle Rule, and the
Greenhouse Gas Tailoring Rule until the Agency can demonstrate that the science
underlying these regulatory decisions has not been compromised.”

As marathon talks open in Copenhagen on climate change, US President Barack Obama is investing heavily in their success but is walking a tightrope as he weathers criticism both at home and abroad.
But the US Congress has not finished legislation to cut emissions blamed for global warming and his opponents have been emboldened by a scandal over leaked emails that they say raises questions on the science behind climate change.

Representative Darrell Issa, the ranking Republican of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, also urged the administration to investigate what he called "Climategate" -- allegations that global warming researchers doctored data to show that the planet is warming because of man-made reasons. “The U.N.’s decision to investigate Climategate is a direct rebuke of the Obama Administration’s refusal to pursue an investigation into the possible manipulation of scientific data to generate predetermined results,” Issa said in a statement.
