Where was “Outrage” Two Weeks Ago?

WASHINGTON. D.C. – House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) released the following statement today regarding AIG:

“The egregious actions of AIG underscore the fact that even more taxpayer dollars are vulnerable to waste and abuse as a result of the Administration’s failure to properly track bailout and stimulus dollars. Where was this outrage and concern two weeks ago when AIG received another $30 billion?

“You can get all the bonuses back and it won’t change the fact that there is no mechanism in place to prevent this from happening again. Democrats have it backwards – they wait for a problem to arise then, when the money is already spent, they decide to try and take action. Our outraged President and this Congress need to take a look in the mirror when looking for someone to blame in this debacle.”
