The House Natural Resources Committee, led by Chairman Nick J. Rahall (D-WV), will meet in open markup session to mark up the following bills:
  • H.R. 1078 (Arcuri): To establish the Harriet Tubman National Historical Park in Auburn, New York, and the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park in Caroline, Dorchester, and Talbot Counties, Maryland, and for other purposes. "Harriet Tubman National Historical Park and Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park Act"

  • H.R. 4003 (Hinchey): To direct the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a special resource study to evaluate resources in the Hudson River Valley in the State of New York to determine the suitability and feasibility of establishing the site as a unit of the National Park System, and for other purposes. "Hudson River Valley Special Resource Study Act"

  • H.R. 4192 (Mike Thompson): To designate the Stornetta Public Lands as an Outstanding Natural Area to be administered as a part of the National Landscape Conservation System, and for other purposes. "Stornetta Public Lands Outstanding Natural Area Act of 2009"

  • H.R. 1738 (Roybal-Allard): To amend the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and Facilities Act to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to participate in the city of Downey, California, regional wastewater treatment and reclamation facility projects. "Downey Regional Water Reclamation and Groundwater Augmentation Project of 2009"

  • H.R. 4252 (Baca): To direct the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a study of water resources in the Rialto-Colton Basin in the State of California, and for other purposes. "Inland Empire Perchlorate Ground Water Plume Assessment Act of 2009"

  • H.R. 765 (Heller): To establish the Nellis Dunes National Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area, and for other purposes. "Nellis Dunes National Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area Act of 2009"

  • H.R. 1769 (Reichert): To expand the Alpine Lakes Wilderness in the State of Washington, to designate the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River and Pratt River as wild and scenic rivers, and for other purposes. "Alpine Lakes Wilderness Additions and Pratt and Middle Fork Snoqualmie Rivers Protection Act"

  • H.R. 2788 (Calvert): To designate a Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside, California. "Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial Act"

  • H.R. 4395 (Platts): To revise the boundaries of the Gettysburg National Military Park to include the Gettysburg Train Station, and for other purposes.

The Committee on Natural Resources met in an open markup session on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, and considered the following bills:

H.R.4003 (Hinchey): To direct the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a special resource study to evaluate resources in the Hudson River Valley in the State of New York to determine the suitability and feasibility of establishing the site as a unit of the National Park System, and for other purposes. “Hudson River Valley Special Resource Study Act”

The Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 4003.

An amendment in the nature of a substitute was offered by Mr. Hinchey.

An amendment offered by Mr. Bishop to the amendment in the nature of a substitute was AGREED TO by a roll call vote of 35 yeas and 0 nays.
