GREGG COMMENDS PRESIDENT FOR DECISION TO FREEZE FEDERAL WAGES

November 29, 2010

Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, today reacted to President Obama’s announcement that the wages of civilian federal employees would remain frozen at current levels for two years in order to reduce the deficit.

“The President had a difficult decision to make, but he should be commended for his action, which underscores the seriousness of our fiscal situation. The real question remains how we deal with the looming deficits and debt, which are driven primarily by our entitlement programs. Hopefully we will see courageous and significant action in these areas as well.”
