This funding will be used to construct a patient emergency relocation system (PERS) on the Texas Medical Center (TMC) Campus. This system will facilitate patient transfers, including movement of paitents during emergency conditions, such as natural disasters and acts of terrorism. The construction of the PERS represent shovel-ready projects which the TMC is prepared to commence as soon as the funds associated with its construction have been secured. Construction of one PERS (there are 3 total) will create 250 good paying jobs.
