The Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources is responsible for issues of mineral resources on public land, geothermal resources, mining interests and most of the U.S. Geological survey. Republicans on the Subcommittee are committed to the environmentally responsible development of America’s vast energy and mineral resources which will expand our domestic energy supply, create thousands of new high-paying American jobs and generate revenue for federal and state treasuries ($23.4 billion in FY-2008). Republicans support the American Energy Act – an all-of-the-above energy plan that allows for the responsible development of American energy resources including wind, solar, hydro, nuclear power, vast oil shale and shale gas, and the onshore and offshore conventional oil & gas resources.
