“The Capitol Corridor Rail Project will create good-paying green jobs right now, and will continue to grow our small business economy into the future,” said Hodes. “Clean, reliable, and fast rail transportation is necessary to grow our economy and ease the burden on our overworked freeways throughout New Hampshire. This project is a huge shot in the arm for New Hampshire’s economy.”
“My first concern is for the safety and health of the men and women who work at the plant that have relied on this well’s drinking water in the past,” said Hodes. “This prospect of radioactive tritium in any of our drinking water is horrifying, and I will continue to fight to ensure that families in the Connecticut River Valley can be confident in their safety.”
"The prospect of Gorham's last paper mill closing is a terrible blow to middle class families who are doing their best to keep American manufacturing and New Hampshire's economy strong," said Hodes. "This recession has put our middle class under assault, and I will stand with these workers as we fight to save this plant, create new and good-paying jobs, and rebuild a strong and secure economy for the Granite State."
