H.R. 1804 would provide automatic enrollment in the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) for any individual eligible to contribute to TSP. H.R. 1804 also includes a ROTH contribution program in TSP, and adds a diversified mutual fund option to TSP participants. The bill also makes a number of changes to the ways in which federal employee retirement benefits are calculated.
H.R. 1804 was passed by the House and then added to H.R. 1256, the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.
