Nevada's Congressional District Three

Transportation

As a Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Congresswoman Titus is fighting to ensure Nevada has the resources it needs to transform its transportation system for the 21st century. In the coming months, Congress will consider a new surface transportation authorization to replace the existing Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act:  A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), which expires on September 30, 2009. As a Member of the Committee, Rep. Titus will support policies that reduce fatalities and injuries on our nation’s highways; unlock the congestion that cripples major cities like Las Vegas and the freight transportation network; provide transportation choices for commuters and travelers; limit the adverse effects of transportation on the environment; and promote public health and the livability of our communities.
