INDOT already working on roads in preparation of snow

The Indiana Department of Transportation TIPTON Subdistrict will mobilize its fleet of plow trucks tonight in anticipation of snow accumulation tomorrow. 26 INDOT drivers will apply salt and plow snow as conditions dictate along the subdistrict's 950 lane-miles of state and interstate highways.

"Plow trucks from unit locations at Kokomo, Tipton and Westfield will go out at 1 a.m.," reports subdistrict manager Ron Buell. "Drivers from the Fortville Unit will be dispatched an hour later.

Wildkats down Fishers in home opener

The Kokomo Wildkats defended Memorial Gymnasium Saturday as it welcomed the Fishers Tigers to its home opener. The 9th-ranked Wildkats came out with a 46-34 victory.

Kokomo's defense was again a major feature of the game. It allowed single digits scoring in three of the four quarters, but throughout the game Kokomo could only manage to get a double-digit lead for only a matter of minutes in the game.
