Pence: The American People Are Saying 'Enough Is Enough'

APRIL 27, 2010

Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence, Chairman of the House Republican Conference, delivered the following remarks at a Republican Leadership press conference this morning:

“While the administration seems determined to change the subject, House Republicans are even more determined to stay focused on creating jobs, getting spending under control, and repealing and replacing this government takeover of health care with health care reforms that will lower the cost of health insurance without growing the size of government.

“Last week their own experts at CMS found that ObamaCare fails to lower health care costs as Democrats have promised. The president’s own analysts concluded that the country will spend $311 billion more under the new law than we would have without it. This now flies in the face of promises of deficit neutrality and fiscal responsibility, and the American people are saying ‘enough is enough.’

“House Republicans will remain focused on creating jobs, controlling spending, and repealing and replacing ObamaCare with health care reform that will serve the interests of the American people and not the bureaucracy.”
