Gus meets with Art Competition Winner PDF Print E-mail

This morning, Gus met with last year's Congressional Art Competition winner, Lindsey Rapp, of Safety Harbor. Her painting, “Borders” has spent the past year hanging in the walk way to the Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

Lindsey painted her award-winning work after being inspired by the setting and the patrons at a local bookstore and coffee shop.  She wanted the challenge of painting figures within a framework of depth and bold colors.

She began painting as a child and was singled out by  a teacher when she was 4 years. Since then, her parents have encouraged her talent and provided professional art classes. Lindsey will be attending an art school in Philadelphia.

Later this week, this year's Art Competition winner will be traveling to D.C. to meet with Gus and participate in Congressional Art Competition festivities.
