The House Natural Resources Committee, led by Chairman Nick J. Rahall (D-WV), will meet in open markup session to mark up the following bills:
  • H.R. 2213 (Kind): To reauthorize the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act.

  • H.R. 2888 (DeFazio): To provide for the designation of the Devil's Staircase Wilderness Area in the State of Oregon, to designate segments of Wasson and Franklin Creeks in the State of Oregon as wild or recreation rivers, and for other purposes. "Devil's Staircase Wilderness Act of 2009"

  • H.R. 2781 (Schrader): To amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate segments of the Molalla River in Oregon, as components of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, and for other purposes.

  • H.R. 86 (Campbell): To eliminate an unused lighthouse reservation, provide management consistency by bringing the rocks and small islands along the coast of Orange County, California, and meet the original Congressional intent of preserving Orange County's rocks and small islands, and for other purposes.

  • H.R. 118 (Frelinghuysen): To authorize the addition of 100 acres to Morristown National Historical Park

The Committee on Natural Resources met in open markup session on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, and considered the following bills:

H.R. 2213 (Kind): To reauthorize the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act.

The Subcommittee on Insular Affairs, Oceans and Wildlife was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 2213.

An amendment in the nature of a substitute was offered by Mr. Kind.

An amendment offered by Mr. Chaffetz to the amendment in the nature of a substitute was NOT AGREED to by a roll call vote of 17 yeas and 23 nays.

The amendment in the nature of a substitute offered by Mr. Kind was AGREED TO by voice vote.

Favorably reported to the House of Representatives, as amended, by a roll call vote of 26 yeas and 16 nays.

The amendment in the nature of a substitute offered by Mr. DeFazio was AGREED TO by voice vote.

Favorably reported to the House of Representatives, as amended, by a roll call vote of 25 yeas and 17 nays.
