Congressman Frank Lucas Votes to Hold Attorney General Eric Holder in Contempt of Congress

Jun 28, 2012

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Lucas today voted in favor of a resolution that will hold Eric Holder, the United States Department of Justice Attorney General, in contempt of Congress for his failure to comply with subpoenas issued by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The Resolution passed the House today with a 255 to 67 vote.

“Because of Attorney General Eric Holder’s actions, it was necessary for the House to pass this resolution to hold him in contempt of Congress,” said Lucas. “It is important that the truth is revealed in the ongoing investigation of the failed "Fast and Furious" operation, and it is my hope the Attorney General will come forward with the relevant information being requested by Chairman Issa and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform."
