Caucus Statement Celebrating Ethiopian New Year Meskerem, 2005
Today, Ethiopians at home and abroad rejoice as one in celebration of the first day of Meskerem, the start of the Ethiopian year of 2005. In honor of this particular New Year, the Ministry of Justice Pardon Board announced Monday, September 10, 2012, that over 1,950 prisoners have been granted pardon and will be freed at an upcoming mass amnesty ceremony in celebration of the New Year.
