Washington, D.C. - Rep. David Price (D-NC) issued this statement Tuesday evening following news that Elizabeth Edwards had passed away after a long battle against breast cancer.

"I was saddened to learn of Elizabeth's passing. She was a warm and engaging person, and she fought valiantly and gracefully to live as long and as well as she could. In addition to her personal strength, I had enormous respect for her intellect and insight, her passionate advocacy for the less advantaged, and her ability to relate to people in all walks of life."
