Sen. Franken Visits LifeTouch Photography in Bloomington
Franken Toured Companys Innovative SmileSafe Program, which Helps Law Enforcement Find Missing Children Using School Photographs
U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) visited Lifetouch's National School Studios photography lab in Bloomington on Friday to meet with executives and more than 100 employees. He presented a flag flown over the capital to CEO Paul Harmel, in recognition of the company's 76th anniversary. During the visit, he learned about the company's operations, including its SmileSafe program, which uses school photographs to help law enforcement officials find missing children.
"I can only imagine what it'd be like to have a child go missing, which is why I was so impressed with LifeTouch's SmileSafe program that I learned about on my visit," said Sen. Franken. "LifeTouch is a great Minnesota company, employing hundreds of people in good jobs. I was proud to learn that LifeTouch is among the largest 100% employee-owned companies in the country, and I'm glad I had the chance to visit with its executives and employees to see all the great things the company is doing."
