WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Reps. Cory Gardner, Scott Tipton, Doug Lamborn, and Mike Coffman are asking leadership to consider the negative impacts a death tax hike would have on small businesses, farms, and ranches as they proceed with negotiations over how to avoid the fiscal cliff.
Today, Congressman Scott Tipton (CO-03) joined Senators Mark Udall (CO) and Michael Bennet (CO), and Speaker John Boehner in lighting the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.
In a letter to Administrator William Murphy of the Risk Management Agency in the US Department of Agriculture, Tipton urges that farmers who filed Prevented Planting claims in 2012 through their Multiple Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) policies not be penalized in 2013 claims.
