- Nearly one year ago, I stood with engineers and construction workers on what is now the Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the Indian River Inlet. Today, this bridge is completed, open for traffic, and has just won the Grand Conceptor Award from the Delaware American Council of Engineering Companies! Congratulations to all who worked on this project on this achievement.

Did you know Westside Family Healthcare has opened a new center in Middletown? I joined Congressman John Carney at a ribbon cutting event to celebrate its opening this morning before heading to Washington D.C. I am proud to support federally qualified health centers like Westside that serve Delawareans in need of quality health care. http://www.westsidehealth.org/en-US/LocationsSenator Tom Carper shared a link.
Today, I was honored to join veterans, young cadets and leaders from across our state at the Delaware Military Academy to pay our respects to those we lost 71 years ago at Pearl Harbor. This holiday season, be sure to thank a veteran for the selfless sacrifices they've made for us and our country.- Happy Delaware Day, everyone! 225 years ago, our state became the "First State" to ratify the Constitution. We should all be proud of Delaware's rich history and unique place in the founding of this great nation!

Today I stopped by to say hi to Karl and Ben, two reporters at the station.
- Last week I met with Jack Tarburton, outgoing USDA Rural Development State Director for a good conversation on housing and the needs of the department. I wish him luck with all that lies ahead.
- Today I wrote holiday letters to some of our overseas servicemen and women as part of the Red Cross’ Holiday Mail for Heroes Program. This is a great opportunity for everyone to support members of our military by sending a heartfelt message to them during this holiday season. http://www.redcross.org/support/get-involved/holiday-mail-for-heroes

- Announcing the USS Delaware (10 photos)On November 19, I joined Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, and Lt. Gov. Matt Denn to announced the naming of one of the newest Navy submarines for the First State. It was a proud moment for me, as this is the firs...t naval vessel to bear the name "Delaware" in almost 90 years. We even had a surprise guest drop by, Vice President Joe Biden.
