WSIU-FM RECEIVES CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale has received an $85,000 Digital Radio grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.  The funds are for WSIU-FM and will be used to purchase equipment needed for the transition to digital radio. 

"This funding will help WSIU expand services and improve sound quality," said Costello.  "Public radio is an important programming alternative and is enjoyed by listeners throughout Southern Illinois."
