Pinckneyville, IL - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello announced today that representatives from the Rapid Response Team from the State of Illinois - Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) will be meeting this week in Pinckneyville with officials and employee representatives at the Pinckneyville Technicolor Universal Media Services plant.
Earlier this month the plant announced that over 200 employees would be laid off because a portion of the plant's packaging line will be moved to other locations. Costello contacted State DCEO officials who indicated that the State's Rapid Response Team will be moving in this week to meet with plant and union officials, as well as employee's representatives.
The Rapid Response Team will introduce workers to the services that will be made available to them to ease the transition to other employment. Additional state agencies or community-based organizations may participate as appropriate.
