SHAWNEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE RECEIVES EDUCATION GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Shawnee Community College has been awarded a $220,000 TRIO Talent Search Program grant through the U.S. Department of Education.  The funds will be used to provide a variety of services to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds obtain a higher education.

"Education is the key to success, especially in the economy of the 21st Century," said Costello.  "I will continue to support efforts to make a quality education more attainable."
