WASHINGTON - US Congressman Jerry Costello announced today that Southern Illinois University at Carbondale will receive $165,592 in funds to deliver educational services from July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2001.
"Providing disadvantaged children equal opportunities to learn is one of the most important things we can do for our country's future," said Costello, who has continually fought to increase funding for the Head Start program in Congress.
This supplemental grant, from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides full-year part-day handicapped training and technical assistance.
